Food was really nice. My room was above the kitchen which kept me up as it didn’t shut when it was supposed to. Made a complaint the following morning to a staff member. A manager was supposed to to get in contact but never did and still didn’t after ringing back up

Visited for lunch today; took a chance and didn’t book. A fairly quiet, tidy and elegant restaurant awaited, neutral tones with a splash of colour made for a pleasant and peaceful visit.
Whilst the menu may be limited for some it should mean that what is offered is seasonal and fresh. I certainly couldn’t fault my meal, although perhaps lose the Yorkshire pudding.
Really great flavours, a substantial portion size served with polite humour. Will definitely return.

Sadly, not a great meal. Nicely served roasts, but nothing had much flavour. We keep wanting this place to be good, as it is walking distance from home, but we never have two good meals in a row.

Came here because we have had many a good meal at West Lodge Park Hotel in Enfield. Was delighted to see Matthew who we knew from Enfield. Beales have done an impressive job with the Bell. We stayed for a delicious meal but had a look at the rooms and they look excellent. There's an intimate feel to the place and atmosphere was relaxed, the staff were very attentive, and the new autumn menu looked very nice. We had the pork chop with extra sides of vegetables. Faultless. Thanks Laura who served us. If you're in the area I would hardly recommend this place.

Living locally we just went to the restaurant. The food, service and decor are excellent. One of us was in a wheelchair and we can confirm that the establishment is very wheelchair friendly as are the other facilities.

I was so impressed by this hotel. We received a warm welcome from manager Matthew and were shown to our gorgeous 'classic' room on the first floor. The room was spacious and very tastefully decorated. It was truly one of the nicest country hotel rooms i have stayed in. The bathroom was large, with a walk in shower, lovely toiletries and fluffy towels. The room was well equipped with a safe, coffee maker and kettle, air cooling unit and large TV. We very much enjoyed our breakfast which had plenty of hot and cold options. The common spaces were also beautifully decorated, and all the staff we encountered were friendly and efficient. Aldeburgh is only a 15-20 minute drive away and there are also country walks nearby. A great choice for a couple of days away. It is worth checking their website for special deals.

Can’t rate the rooms as didn’t stay but staff, atmosphere, food, drinks, service and prices were all spot on. We were staying in a cottage just up the road and wanted something to eat on a Sunday evening (Suffolk, like Norfolk is an impossible feat to eat on a Sunday evening) but the hotel were serving! We had one of the best roast dinners we’ve had in a long long time and our doggy Sparky was made so welcome with fresh water and treats and lots of fusses!
We enjoyed it so much we went back mid week for another delightful dinner, which again, was absolutely superb.
Prices were very reasonable.
All food cooked fresh with local produce.
We will most definitely visit again when I’m the area.

Great location within a minute’s walk of the train station. Great to see this iconic building in Saxmundham reinvigorated. Service was very efficient and quick, very friendly throughout our delicious dinner. Food presentation was accomplished, imaginative but not over-long menu (always a good sign!) was full of flavour. We didn’t stay as we’re local, but I went to look at two rooms, beautifully furnished with very nice bathrooms. Saxmundham
Is a quiet little town, so potential guests should never be worried about traffic noise!

We popped by on the off chance for dinner & was not disappointed.
The whole place has been decorated to a very high standard & comes along with a very nice vibe.
The food was delicious & plentiful.
The Bell has a very good seasonal menu using local quality products.
The service was fantastic & very attentive.
We didn't stay over as we only went for dinner however, we did have a look at some marketing that was on the table advertising events & rooms.
There was also a QR code that takes you straight to the website.
From the website it looks like the rooms are done up to a very high standard too.
If the resturant standard is anything to go by, you certainly won't be disappointed.
We will be returning for sure, seems like we have come across another local little gem.

Went for a meal last night. Very nice and attentive waitress and the restaurant itself is pleasant. Unfortunately the menu is very restricted. Choice of six main meals and one was veggie. Didn’t have a starter because again the choice was poor and none of them were the old ‘staples’ like prawn cocktail. Likewise the mains which had burgers and fish and chips but the others were very much ‘Gordon Ramsey Esque’ like Ox cheek? None of the basic fare like liver and bacon, or ham egg and chips which we used to eat there. Desserts similar, no apple pie etc. I get they are trying to move ‘up market’ but I recommend looking at the menu before booking. We’d been before so we didn’t and we’re disappointed.
